Old Siege House, The

Modern European cuisine with a French Influence

The restaurant is set in a beautifully restored building dating back over 400 years, it was in 1603 when the Cavaliers and Roundheads battled over the siege for Colchester that the building got its name, and until this day bullet holes remain clearly visible on the building's exterior.

More recently the building has been restored and decorated tastefully with thick pile carpets, high leather chairs and painted plaster larve walls and exposed timbers accompanied by the restaurant's piano where the resident pianist plays a selection of music to fit the mood. The Old Siege House offers its diners a sophisticated although relaxing atmosphere for intimate dining or enjoying the company of family and friends.
